Here’s how HiveLedger POS works.
Does HiveLedger POS work without internet?+
Yes. The Windows and Android apps each run their own local database. Core sales, inventory, stocktakes, file imports, invoice PDFs and backup exports work locally. Android can work without a PC. Email delivery and downloading external product images need a connection.
Is the $499 price a subscription?+
No. AUD $499 is the one-time software licence price for HiveLedger POS, with no monthly software subscription. It is a separate product from the AUD $299 HiveLedger service-business toolkit. This sample website does not take payments or issue licences.
Does HiveLedger POS process card payments?+
No. It records sales and their payment methods, creates invoices and maintains inventory records. Card payments, bank transfers and other actual payments are handled through your separate payment arrangements.
Which barcode scanners can I use?+
Use a USB or Bluetooth scanner in keyboard/HID mode, configured to finish each code with Enter or Tab. Android also includes a camera scanner. Products and variants can have their own SKU and barcode, so a scan can select the matching variant.
Can I back up my records?+
Yes. Settings includes local backup tools. Backups include products, photos, invoices, users, settings and history. Windows supports a configured daily backup schedule. Keep a successful copy on another drive, and export or sync Android records before uninstalling the app.
How do the Windows and Android apps sync?+
Keep both devices on the same trusted local network, open HiveLedger on the PC and connect through Find PC or Phone & PC sync on Android using the PC owner's username and PIN. Review the first merge carefully: existing phone quantities can be added to PC stock, so do not independently import the same counted inventory on both devices before merging. After linking, changes sync both ways while connected; conflicts can require review. The phone remains usable when the PC is off.
